There is an end to everything in this world; there is nothing in this life that will prevail. In the Quran there is a verse which says ((وكل ما عليها فان)). This verse is speaking about what is on the earth, it says that everything on earth has an end. Many of us categorize ourselves as believers and Muslims with strong iman (faith), but when something is taken away from us, we throw a fit. It was Allah who gave us, and it is Allah who took it away. We need to have faith in Allah more than we have faith in our bosses, family, and friends. We need to value our faith more than we value money, cars, and vacations. But the question is, do we?
If we did, we would seek refugee in our Creator when we lose our jobs, children, spouses, houses...etc. Rather than begging our bosses to give us our jobs back, why don't we make dua'a (supplication) to Allah? Allah says (( أستجيب دعوة الداع اذا دعانِ)) which means I answer the supplications of the supplicant if he/she supplicated me.
Do not ask from people. Especially in times like these where the hearts of people have become colder than ever before. Ask from the One who has created you. And when He takes from you, thank him for the time he has given you.
And remember: nothing in this life is meant to last forever.
