New Year for Refugees

Having a roof over my head for the past 25 years of my life, all I can say is Alhamdulliah for each year that has passed by. Living with first-world problems such as poor WI-FI connection, let us not forget the plight of those who are leaving their families, homes, and lives behind them in search of peace. Before we complain about how they are taking our jobs and affecting our economy, let's remember that they are fleeing death and war. War which our governments are sponsoring with money, weapons, and soldiers. How can we call such people terrorists when it is our governments and tax money terrorizing them? It is pitiful that in the 21st century there is still bias in race and religion, where refugees were to be admitted on basis of their religion and not on their humanitarian crisis. I hope that in 2016 there are no more babies washed dead onto the shore and that horrifying war images no longer exist. That may be to much to hope for, but I am not looking for a new year where the horrors of the previous years are repeated; Happy peaceful year.
